Steller Systems Presenting at UK NEST Artificial Intelligence Conference

Thursday, May 11th, 2023

Steller Systems’ Paul Gliddon will be presenting at the UK NEST Conference on “Achieving Artificial Intelligence at Scale in the Naval Domain” next week.

Paul will be presenting Steller Systems’ approach to using Artificial Intelligence Deep Learning Technology to find optimal, low drag hull form shapes, focussing on reducing both ship build and operational costs.  Using this approach, millions of shapes of hull forms can be efficiently analysed leading to game-changing resistance reductions. A recent task to optimise a future frigate hull form showed the extent of the potential savings; a 32% reduction in resistance at cruise speed (16 knots) and for the same hull a 22% reduction in resistance at top speed (24 knots).

The conference takes place at the SS Great Britain in Bristol on the 17th May.
